Internship Functions
An internship at UNESCO offers a unique chance to experience the daily operations of a United Nations specialized agency. Interns will work in various teams within Programme Sectors or Central Services at Headquarters, Field Offices, or Category I Institutes, contributing to meaningful projects and enhancing their technical and professional skills.
Tasks
Interns may:
- Conduct and summarize research.
- Assist in preparing documents, including communication materials.
- Collect, analyze, and present data.
- Help organize and communicate about events.
- Participate in meetings and workshops.
- Contribute to technical work.
- Liaise with other UN entities.
- Perform project-specific tasks.

Required Qualifications
- Age: At least 20 years old.
- Academic: Enrolled in or recently graduated (within 12 months) from a graduate program (Masterβs, PhD, or equivalent).
- Languages: Proficiency in English or French; knowledge of the other language is an asset.
- Computer Skills: Excellent knowledge of computer systems and office software.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team and adapt to an international environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Benefits and Entitlements
- Compensation: None
- Leave: 2.5 days per month
Selection and Recruitment Process
- Application Period: January and July each year
- Preparation: Have a motivation letter and rΓ©sumΓ© ready before applying.

- Selection: Candidates stay in the intern talent pool for six months. Successful candidates will be contacted directly by the hiring manager.
