• Analyze aid flow data and assess the alignment of donor support with national development priorities and child-focused outcomes.

2. Social Spending and Policy Review

• Support evidence generation on public spending trends, with an emphasis on social sectors that benefit children (education, health, social protection).
• Examine government budgets and expenditures to identify opportunities for scaling up investment in children.
• Develop policy briefs and technical notes based on findings to inform internal and external stakeholders.

3. Analytical Writing and Visualization

• Synthesize complex statistical findings into clear, compelling reports.
• Produce high-quality, publishable analytical outputs, including research papers, discussion documents, and presentations.
• Create engaging data visualizations using modern tools (e.g., Tableau, ggplot2 in R, Seaborn in Python) to communicate results effectively to diverse audiences.

4. Cross-Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with UNICEF’s internal teams including Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Policy, and Programme sectors.
• Liaise with international partners such as UNDP, IMF, World Bank, and research think tanks to coordinate datasets, methodologies, and policy insights.
• Participate in working groups or task teams on economic resilience, financing for development, and equity-based budgeting.

5. Technical and Strategic Support

• Provide technical guidance to country offices or regional bureaus as needed.
• Advise on indicators and frameworks to track and measure financial allocations to children.
• Offer ad hoc support to the Director’s Office for knowledge products or donor reports as required.

🎓 Qualifications

Education & Certification

Applicants must have:

• A Master’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field such as:
  • Economics
  • Development Economics
  • Statistics
  • Quantitative Public Policy
  • Or related disciplines that focus on fiscal and macroeconomic policy.

A PhD or additional certification in data science, econometrics, or international development will be considered an advantage.

Professional Experience

Candidates should demonstrate:

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in macroeconomic analysis, public finance, aid effectiveness, or statistical modeling.
• A strong background in working with large datasets, including cross-country and time-series economic data.
• Experience working with or advising governments, multilateral agencies, or international organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to produce peer-reviewed papers, policy notes, or development finance analysis.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in statistical software, including:
