The BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women 2025 is now open for applications. This prestigious opportunity, supported by the BackPack Foundation, is designed to remove barriers for high-potential women seeking to pursue an MBA at IMD Business School in Switzerland.

Fully funded and focused on leadership development, the scholarship aims to level the playing field for women whose paths to an MBA may have been hindered by financial constraints, professional interruptions, or family responsibilities. It provides both full tuition and living expenses to allow recipients to fully dedicate themselves to their academic and leadership journey.

Scholarship Purpose & Impact

The BackPack-Excellence Scholarship exists to empower women with:

Eligibility Criteria

Multiple scholarship applications are allowed, but only one scholarship can be awarded per candidate.

How to Apply:

Applications are submitted via the IMD MBA admissions portal. Within the form, applicants must complete a dedicated section for the BackPack-Excellence Scholarship.

Required Materials:

Essay (500 words)
Topic:
“What pressing challenge, whether in your community or more broadly, are you most passionate about addressing? How do you think a BackPack-supported MBA at IMD will enable you to contribute to addressing that challenge?”
Video (90–120 seconds)
Share a moment where you embodied one or more of the BackPack Foundation’s values: Share, Dare, and Care.

Complete the IMD MBA application, including personal, academic, and professional details.

Selection Process

After the initial application review, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a BackPack assessment. This step may include interviews or other evaluations aligned with the foundation’s mission and values.
