📋 The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As the Undergraduate Studies Officer, you will serve as the linchpin for the administration of undergraduate teaching and examinations within the Faculty of Philosophy. Your work will directly support students, academic staff, and faculty leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Management: Provide day-to-day administrative support for all undergraduate students taking philosophy, across all eight joint degree programmes.

  • Teaching Administration: Collaborate with the Director of Undergraduate Studies to schedule courses, coordinate tutorial arrangements, and manage records related to teaching.

  • Examinations Oversight: Administer the Faculty’s examination and assessment processes in philosophy, ensuring regulatory compliance and consistency across departments.

  • Committee Work: Serve as Secretary to the Philosophy Undergraduate Studies Committee and represent the Faculty in Joint Schools Committee meetings, liaising with counterparts across other faculties and departments.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and work closely with the Education Support Officer, as well as other professional services staff within the Humanities Division.

  • Student Services: Ensure an excellent standard of service delivery to students, from course registration and academic records to pastoral support referrals and student enquiries.

  • Communication: Maintain consistent communication with Faculty members, college tutors, University central services, and departmental colleagues.
