The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is recruiting a Home-Based Knowledge Management & Documentation Consultant (Job No. 583020) to assist the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECARO). This role will support UNICEF’s operations in Italy, documenting programming developments from 2016 to 2026. The contracted period runs from September to December 2025, with a total commitment of 80 working days. While the role is fully remote, it includes a travel allowance of up to EUR 1,000 for potential travel to Rome for in-person stakeholder engagement.(turn1search0)
Tasks
Strategic Blueprint Development

Design a documentation framework to capture UNICEF’s Italian programming—from child protection and migration to adolescent development—spanning 2016–2026.

The documentation should highlight sustainability, innovation, institutional memory, and adaptability for middle-income countries, incorporating relevant Programme Guidance for High-Income Countries (2023).
Programmatic Analysis & Knowledge Capture

Identify and synthesize key initiatives and partnerships within UNICEF Italy.

Develop documentation to support replication efforts and policy advocacy in similar contexts.
Deliverables & Work Format

Produce a blueprint, analytical summaries, and structured case studies.

Work remotely, with travel to Rome as needed and within the EUR 1,000 budget.

Payments will be tied to milestones, contingent on quality and timeliness.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
-
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in International Development, Social Sciences, Political Science, or a related field.
Experience

At least 7 years of experience in:

Conducting systematic reviews

Evaluations

Documentation (e.g., case studies, lessons learned)

Language Skills

Fluent in English

Professional proficiency in Italian (both written and spoken)
