Discovery, a leading South African health and life insurance company, is currently offering an exciting internship opportunity under its Employee Benefits division. The Communication Analyst Internship Programme aims to develop early-career professionals with a keen interest in corporate communications and content development.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Discovery Corporate and Employee Benefits with drafting and editing communication material related to operational updates, product modifications, and regulatory changes. This is a strategic communications role that requires the ability to manage multiple projects, write clearly and concisely, and work closely with internal stakeholders across departments.

Tasks
Interns in the Discovery Communication Analyst Programme will take on responsibilities that require both creativity and attention to detail. Key duties include:

Writing content for various platforms, including newsletters, operational updates, and regulatory notices.

Interns will work in a dynamic corporate setting and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s brand voice and stakeholder messaging.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
To be eligible for the internship, applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

Possess a matric certificate (Grade 12 qualification).

Be currently pursuing or have already obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro is considered an added advantage.
Experience
While this is an internship role intended for individuals at the start of their careers, having the following experience would strengthen your application:

Previous experience in a communications, media, marketing, or editorial role (internships included).

Demonstrated ability to write professionally in English for corporate or public audiences.

Portfolio of writing samples or communication projects (if available).
