Position: Engineering Specialist
Key Responsibilities
The Engineering Specialist will be responsible for overseeing infrastructure and civil engineering projects that support healthcare, sustainable energy, and water resource management. The key responsibilities include:
1. Engineering Project Management
- Lead and monitor construction and renovation projects such as warehouses, pharmacy stores, solar system installations, and borehole drilling.
- Ensure compliance with international engineering standards, safety regulations, and sustainability principles.
- Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and execution strategies.
2. Contracts and Procurement Oversight
- Provide guidance on contract management and procurement processes.
- Evaluate bids, proposals, and technical submissions.
- Ensure service providers and contractors adhere to quality and timeline requirements.
3. Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Supervise project execution to ensure high-quality standards and value-for-money.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field may also apply, but they must have an additional two years of work experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years (Master’s) or 9 years (Bachelor’s) of experience in engineering project management, infrastructure development, and construction supervision.
- Hands-on experience in health infrastructure development (hospitals, clinics, medical storage facilities, etc.).
- Experience in contract management, procurement processes, and quality control.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and web-based management tools.
- Familiarity with UNDP, Global Fund, or UN agency work environments is an added advantage.
