OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

The Digital Business Solutions (DBS) team at UNESCO manages ICT operations, supporting UNESCO’s digital strategy implementation. Interns will assist in various projects under DBS’ supervision, gaining hands-on experience in ICT operations, cybersecurity, AI deployment, and application development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operations and Helpdesk Support: Assist in network monitoring, server management, and cloud platform configurations.
  • Cybersecurity and AI Deployment: Support AI model deployment, conduct cybersecurity workshops, and coordinate phishing simulations.
  • Development and Engineering: Collaborate on application development, UI/UX enhancements, data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Gain practical knowledge in project management and UNESCO’s operational frameworks.
  • Strengthen technical skills in ICT operations, cybersecurity, and AI deployment.
  • Enhance interpersonal and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Age: Minimum 20 years old.
  • Education: Enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program (Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent) in relevant fields.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English or French; proficiency in both languages is an asset.
  • Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of computer systems and office-related software.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to an international work environment.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS

Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during their internship. This opportunity provides valuable insights into UNESCO’s global operations and offers a platform for professional development.
