Sustainability and Value Creation in Agricultural Supply Chains

The initiative is part of Germany’s Special Initiative on the Transformation of Agricultural and Food Systems.

The project supports sustainability improvements in major agricultural supply chains including:

The programme works with governments, international organizations, private sector companies, traders, and certification bodies to strengthen sustainability from producers to consumers.

Internship Responsibilities

The selected intern will support the project management unit in Germany.

Key tasks include:

Climate and Sustainability Research

  • Conducting research and analysis on climate change
  • Supporting biodiversity initiatives
  • Examining child labour issues
  • Analyzing living income and sustainable agriculture topics
  • Preparing reports and knowledge products

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

  • Supporting project monitoring systems
  • Analyzing programme data
  • Evaluating project results
  • Preparing monitoring reports
  • Documenting project outcomes

Sustainable Cocoa Initiative Support

The intern will help coordinate activities related to the:

EU Sustainable Cocoa Initiative (SCI)

including project coordination and implementation support.

  • Supporting reporting to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)
  • Assisting with EU reporting requirements
