About the Position

The Manager, Policy Communications will play a key role within the U.S. Programs & Policy (USPP) team by developing strategic communications that translate complex policy work into compelling stories for policymakers, partners, philanthropic organizations, and the public.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Policy & Advocacy, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Foundation’s Communications team to strengthen policy influence and showcase the impact of Rockefeller Foundation initiatives.

Salary

  • $130,100–$150,000 per year
  • Salary depends on qualifications and experience.

Work Schedule:

  • Hybrid work arrangement
  • On-site Monday through Thursday

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Develop and implement annual policy communication strategies.
  • Translate complex research and policy work into accessible content.
  • Produce speeches, reports, policy briefs, presentations, and digital content.
  • Coordinate media and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support senior leadership during conferences, media interviews, and public events.
  • Manage communication campaigns and project timelines.
  • Work closely with internal communications teams to ensure brand consistency.
  • Oversee external consultants, writers, and creative vendors.
  • Measure communication performance and recommend improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to influence public policy discussions.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should generally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Policy, Journalism, Public Affairs, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of professional experience in:
    • Policy communications
    • Public affairs
    • Strategic communications
    • Government
    • Philanthropy
    • Non-profit organizations
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills.
  • Strong understanding of policy communication strategies.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
